VOTE FOR CLASS TEE DESIGNS NOW!!!
Okay, finally the long awaited o6ip01 class tee design is OUT!
Voting works like this, email andy1991@gmail.com with the design number, and where you want it on the shirt (front/back/left/right). Colour suggestions also please, since most of us are sick of the usual black-and-white (i was thinking chocolate brown..). Polling will close once a 70% majority wins, or 90% ppl respond. SO VOTE NOW! Feedback and responses are welcome. (votes on the tagboard are not counted).

Also, would you peeps mind if we shared this shirt with our juniors. 'Cos i think it'll be really cool if they would have a shirt even before orientation (unlike us). SO let's say the black-coloured design wins. 07ip01 could have the white-coloured design as their class tee (with new names of course)! Then 01 can rule the WORLD! Wahahaha! (ok.. sidetracking). but yes, comments?

EDIT: A small front/back design will be out soon. Depending on where you want the original design. AND there's now a new design no. on request from sheena.

Design No. 1

Design No. 1.5 (*NEW*)

Design No. 2
Design No. 3

THANKS!!! -andy
PS: Does anybody know how to contact the scholars?

Dear readers of the 06ip01 blog, please refrain from using profanities or flaming on the tagboards. Not only does it show that tagger's upbringing and lack of morals, it reflects on that person's character as well. If you truly do have issues with the Integrated Programme or with any one of its students. You are welcome to bring it up to the relevant authorities in the school. Do not bother trying to hide behind the mask of an anonymous name as we still have your IP address. It is utter cowardess to 'flame' someone/or a group of people without giving a name and proper justification.

On another note. The reply on the tagboard under the name '01er' has NOT been made by any member of 01. I understand that you may want to fight for the name and pride of the IP and that such atrocities cannot be tolerated. But please, do not impersonate any party which you are not. Please be tactful and considerate in your response. As doing as such shows immaturity and that you are stooping as low to the level of the flamer.

We do not encourage such unhealthy behavior on our blog. There are proper means and avenues to return your feedback to the school. And by flaming us and the programme does not benefit anyone. And neither will we be affected by what you say or think about us. The Integrated Programme and its students are none the less students of National Junior College and humans as well. Please do try to be considerate and not have such irrational hate and prejudice against us. For more information about the Integrated Programme, here is the school's official website: http://njc.edu.sg/integrated_features.htm. You may like to contact the school here: njc@moe.edu.sg. Or visit the General Office and register a formal complaint. Other than that leave your personal problems and issues away from our blog. Thank you.

hello. i thought some of us worrying bout obs would want some tips...

i got some info from my friends in mg...they went for obs already...some just this week... haha

anyway, mustmustmust bring sun block and insect repellent hor...if not ull just die...for the long sleeved shirt and long pants, its important to protect u from sunburns when we do kayaking and hiking. apparently, the number of hours ur group kayaks depends on ur group's instructor...so some did 10 others did 3...yeah...and bout the peeing outdoors :P. there IS one day when u have to do ur business outside (dig pit and squat!) cause we'll kayak to this place and camp there one night or something. im not sure if we'll be shifting campsite everynight but im sure we'll be sleeping in a tent all four nights. yeah, i heard there'll be bout 4-5 ppl in one tent and it's quite squeezy. its either rock climbin or high element, depending on your instructor. also, u dont need that many pairs of shorts, but long pants is very important. food! breakfast and lunch will be buns or something and dinner will be self cooked...yeah. dont bring sleeping bag cause it will add to ur weight, and i dont think u need it. bout the bagpack, they will provide one for u to "repack" ur stuff into. i think. and bring wet tissues (esp girls ^.o, very important!) yeah...and there's not much interaction between groups i think.

my friend's class was split into two groups according to index number. i heard ours will be entirely random...evening out the guys i think...:P

ok tts all i know so far i think...and if anything doesnt turn out true dont blame me...ive been kind enough to not find enjoyment in watching the rest suffer. :D just kidding...

c YA!

MI ANNOUNCEMENTS YET AGAIN !

for all those who dint know your essay for MI informal fallacies is due on MONDAY. Along with your Groups of 3 presentation on all 3 of your chosen fallacies. For all those who are still blur on what to do, here it is AGAIN (simplified version):
1NE : CHOOSE ONE FALLACY (not a catergory like fallacies of relevance, or presumption, or ambiguity BUT like Ad Hominem, Begging the Question or Appeal to Authority.)
2WO : Present it in a manner which makes clear your full understanding. Give examples. (Real-life examples will be good. Explain why it is a fallacy, how does it happen etc.)
3HREE : Put together a powerpoint presentation. (Use your imagination and creativity. Use lots of cartoons, pictures or whatever will leave a lasting mark on us who listen. It must be clear and comprehensible.)

If you still need further help: GOOGLE-IT.
If all else fails: KM-IT. (for the hopeless bums who dontknow how to navigate around km)
For anything else: MSN-IT.

Pls be reminded the MI Essay is due on April 19th. So get started. It's on KM along with a whole bunch of other resources. EVERYTHING IS ON KM. so pls find it for yourself.

The groupings are also up for the "Language and Thought" project. Please check on Monday if you haven't already done so. Any violent objections pls keep it to yourself. it's not my problem. KIDDING. if it's really a life/death situation and you will absolutely kill that person if you have to work with him/her, pls tell me. but since that is highly unlikely, don't tell me. She'll brief us on this project soon. So yea... keep checking for more announcements. To be continued...

MI ANNOUNCEMENTS (URGENT & IMPT!):
1. New notes, reading material, and other announcements have been posted on the KM, please check.
2. The 800-1200 word MI Assignment due on Wednesday 19th April has also been posted on KM.
3. Please prepare some materials (newspapers, magazines, etc.) for tomorrow's MI tutorial, it'll be on Reasoning and Informal Fallacies: A Fallacy is an error in reasoning.
a. Fallacies of Relevance
b. Fallacies of Presumption
c. Fallacies of Ambiguity
4. Graded Assignment 2 - Choose 1 Informal Fallacy. Present it in a manner which makes clear your full understanding. Give examples. First draft to be handed in TOMORROW! Please remember to bring to discuss in your groups and also bring material to put it together (look above). We will work in groups later.

"You guys are so predictable. Once I say that a GRADE will be given, the type which counts in your GPA Score, people get wierd and message me strange requests. You guys need perspective.

May I please repeat: DO NOT MESSAGE ME unless loss of life and limb are involved (esp on a weekend), or unless you want to tell me I'm such a wonderful human being.

If you are an MI Rep, then you can message me for anything, any time, because you guys are indispensible to me.

It's not about the marks!!!! But if you really so not have a life, Here's The Deal:

1. I have attached some examples of Informal Fallacies.
2. I have attached last year's not very good lecture on Informal Fallacies.
3. To get a good grade, your Power Point has to be better than the one I used last year. Use your imagination and creativity. Use lots of cartoons, pictures or whatever will leave a lasting mark on us who listen. It must be clear and comprehensible.

For this coming week, you have to come to class with your first draft of ONE Informal Fallacy.
You also have to have some magazines, speeches, a lap-top would be great.
Look for two other people who have done different IF. Form a group of 3.
Show them what you have done and explain to them what you understand by the Fallacy. Improve on your first draft. Share ideas on how to put together an effective PP Presentation of your chosen 3 IF, with illustrations from real life to show how these fallacies occur in real life.

4. I have also attached last year's lecture on what an argument is to give you an idea of what is expected in your essay.

Try to enjoy yourselves.

I will actually be able to make most of the classes except the Friday ones, I think." (Excerpted from Mrs Tan. KM. Heading: You Very Strange People. The first one on the news list if you cant find it.) Rmb when in doubt dont just GOOGLE-it, KM-it. Check attachments and document library as well. Very useful. Word limit: When you feel it's enough and deserves the 15 marks (which will be quite unlikely so 12 will do ^^).

5. Your grouping for the "Language and Thought" assignment this term will be given in time to come. (check back soon.)
6. IT'LL ALWAYS BE HIGHLY USEFUL TO CHECK THE KM FROM TIME TO TIME SO PLEASE DO. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, PLEASE DON'T LET THE FIRST THING YOU DO BE TO SPAM MY PHONE OR NUDGE ME ON MSN. NOTHING BEATS STUFF AS HARD AS GOOGLE. EXCEPT FOR MAYBE KM. THE NOTES THERE WILL ACTUALLY BE VERY USEFUL IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THEM. THANK YOU. ^^
